This scope of this greybox prototype for Soulcatcher: Shadows & Echoes was to test a dialogue system and how it can work with voiced narration for the various characters.
It explores the concept of memory recall for achieving objectives. This prototype uses a "memory echo" sound effect to play back a person's memories. In the ultimate game, the player will experience the memory more directly and will need to actively uncover clues to advance the quest objetives.
Additional characters were added to the scene for additional flavour. They will take on more signifiance in the full game.
